Summer 2026 Youth Education and Entertainment Camps
Camps are two weeks long with live performances on location at 940 Holt Rd, Sanford, NC.
Junior Camp: Mary Poppins, Jr
Ages 8-18
All of London is shouting from the rooftops about this exciting stage adaptation of the classic tales of Mary Poppins. Join the Banks family as they encounter adventure after fun-filled adventure with their curious new nanny, Mary Poppins. Adapted especially for young performers, this musical includes favorite Sherman brothers songs such as “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Feed the Birds,” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” as well as wonderful new songs by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. With colorful characters and an irresistible score, Mary Poppins JR. is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for all ages!

Auditions will be held on the first day of camp.

Senior Camp: Anything Goes
Ages 13-20
Anything Goes is Cole Porter’s 1934 musical comedy. Billy Crocker, a young Wall Street executive, meets and falls in love with socialite Hope Harcourt. When he goes to the berth of the S.S. America to drop off some papers for his boss, Wall Street tycoon Elisha J. Whitney, and say goodbye to his friend, night club singer, Reno Sweeney, he finds Hope is a passenger on the ship, and is going to marry Englishman, Lord Oakleigh, upon arrival in England.
Mad with love, Billy stows away on the S.S. America. With the help of Reno and Public Enemy Number 13, “Moonface” Martin, Billy hopes to persuade Hope to marry him, and not Lord Oakley.
What will happen aboard the S.S. America? Will everyone find a happy ending? Anything Goes!

Summer Theatre Camp Show Director: Chase Coston
Chase Coston (Show Director) is a high school theatre teacher at Union Pines High School. He has been directing shows and camps across North Carolina for 4 years. He attended East Carolina University where he graduated with BFAs in both Musical Theatre Performance and Theatre Arts Education. His passion for theatre and working with students has won him awards for both his teaching (Union Pines High School Beginning Teacher of the year 2023, Moore County School Beginning Teacher of the Year 2023) and his directing (NCTC Excellence in Directing Award 2022, 2024). Outside of directing and teaching, he also enjoys dancing, playwriting, and is an avid Shakespeare enthusiast. He is excited to be bringing opportunities for students and children to learn and grow as performers during the summer with Ingaboo Books.
Assistant Director, Leah Jones
Leah Jones is a theater education major at Appalachian State University (ASU). She started her directing career as a junior in high school in 2021 at STARS Charter School and her goal is to teach elementary students. She is a member of the theater honors society, Alpha Psi Omega (APO) and recently made her directing debut for the club. Her summers have been spent directing and working at various theatre camps. She is very excited for the opportunity to work with students again at Ingaboo Books.
Musical Director, Mary Poppins Jr: Charlynn Walker
Charlynn Walker is a performer and music educator originally from Moore County, NC. After spending 20 years in New York City performing and teaching, she returned home to share her love of the arts with her community.
She teaches private voice and piano and is the Pre-K through 8th grade music teacher at St. John Paul II Catholic School. Charlynn has performed with Sunrise Theatre, Encore Performing Arts, and sings with the Moore County Choral Society.
She had a great time being part of the team for last year’s productions of Oliver Jr. and Alice by Heart, and is excited to return as Musical Director for Mary Poppins Jr.
She’s passionate about helping students build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music and theatre and is thankful for the opportunity to do what she loves.
Musical Director, Anything Goes: Liz Cox
Elizabeth (Liz) Cox is a professional performing and teaching artist currently based in The Sandhills of NC. She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC and a Master of Music Degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS.
Liz frequents the stage as a musical theatre performer with recent credits including Rosalie in School of Rock and Elsa in The Sound of Music. Liz also works as a private voice teacher in Southern Pines and serves as the Instructor of Voice for the Music Department at Sandhills. She began music directing two years ago and this will be her 12th musical serving as music director.

Technical Director: Josh Ellis
Josh is excited to be returning to Ingaboo Books this summer season as their Technical Director. He is currently pursuing a degree in Theatre Production from Fayetteville State University.
Previous technical credits include Lights Up: Love is in the Air. (Ingaboo Books), The Haunted House (Ingaboo Books), Senior Showcase and A Very Black History (Fayetteville State University).
Stage Manager: Rogue Hartness
Rogue is super happy to return to Ingaboo Books as a Stage Manager. She plans to study technical theater at Appalachian State. This will make her 15th show as a stage manager. She has also done lighting design and costuming.
Assistant Stage Manager/Marketing: Izzy Surles
Izzy is excited to be returning to Ingaboo Books after working last year’s Oliver! Jr., Alice by Heart, Haunted House, and performing in February’s Lights Up 2. She is a senior earning her BFA in Directing with minors in musical theatre and dance from Greensboro College.
Some of her favourite credits include directing Sham! (Greensboro College), costuming Legally Blonde (Encore Center), performing in the ensemble of Two Gentlemen of Verona (Greensboro College), and of course interning last year’s Alice by Heart.
Assistant Choreographer: Jalen Troublefield
Jalen is glad to be joining the Ingaboo Books team this summer. He is finishing his BFA in Musical Theatre with a dance minor from Greensboro College.
Some of Jalen’s favourite roles include: Jekyll from Jekyll and Hyde, Proteus from Two Gentlemen of Verona, and Finch from Newsies.
Jalen enjoys playing basketball and soccer and building logos. His favourite styles of dance are Jazz and Tap! “I love dancing and feeling free in my dance.”

Costume Design and Wardrobe: Amber Galley
Amber is the proprietor of Galleygirl Designs in Aberdeen, NC.
She earned her BFA in textiles at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
She enjoys costuming musical theater productions for the joy it brings the audiences, actors, crew, and staff.
Her most recent productions include The Clockmaker’s Daughter at Union Pines High School, Cameron, NC and The Little Mermaid at North Moore High School, Robbins, NC.
She is excited to be with Ingaboo Books again this year because it was a great experience last summer and she hopes to be a small part of this year’s joy!
Intern: Russell Barstow
Russell has been working at Ingaboo Books since last summer and is glad to be returning for Mary Poppins Jr. and Anything Goes this summer! Some of his favourite and most memorable credits include Sergei in Matilda, Coach Bolton in High School Musical Jr., and Arvide Abernathy in Guys and Dolls Jr.
